Duty-driven and uncompromising, Enzo has little patience for other people, and even less for those he deems foolish. He won't even spend the time required to be polite; he speaks his mind, sharing his opinion whether others want it or not. He prefers to focus his energies on his work and his studies into thaumaturgy, and he won't tolerate many distractions from them.He seems to spurn even those "close" to him. He claims to have no attachments to the people around him, interested only in gaining more strength in his own magical ability. Even so, he's loyal in his own way; he won't sacrifice opportunities to further his studies for a night out with his so-called "bestie," but he will gladly turn his magics against those who wrong him. ("All in the name of learning," of course.)While he's cold even to friends, Enzo is particularly ruthless to those who inspire his rage. He forgets little and forgives even less. Prideful to a fault, he suffers no insults towards his character or his ability. Should anyone be brave enough (or foolish enough) to belittle or mock him, he'll turn his single-minded focus towards ensuring he repays the debt. Tenfold.

history

While Enzo rarely speaks on his past, those who have spent time in Ul'dah may recognize him nonetheless. Given away to the Arrzaneth Ossuary when he was but a few summers old, he was both taught and raised there communally. While not technically an orphan, he was taken into the fold as if he was one. As a young boy, he assisted with odd jobs and studied thaumaturgy.He took quickly to the magical arts, earning the attention of a Highlander who worked at the Ossuary. This Highlander adopted Enzo in a more official capacity, eager to have a son talented in thaumaturgy like himself--according to the rumors, at the very least.Thus he spent his childhood, his magical talents growing in leaps and bounds as he slowly took on more responsibilities at the Ossuary. As a young adult, he was hired in an official capacity as an undertaker in Erralig's Burial Chamber. While he has since stopped living with his adopted father, he remains a mortician and thaumaturge both.There are whispers that, in his free time, he has started turning to darker, forbidden arts. Whether there is any truth to these rumors remains between Enzo and those he deigns to enlighten.

It's possible you know Enzo simply by virture of annoying him! There are plenty of pet peeves he has to pick at, and he's certainly not shy about expressing his displeasure at seeing them. Perhaps he commented on a habit of yours in the past, or maybe you even tried purposefully getting on his nerves.

As an undertaker at Erralig's Burial Chamber, Enzo has seen his fair amount of Ul'dah's citizenry. He might have prepared the body of a passed loved one for you; or perhaps he broke the news that said loved one wouldn't be interred in the Chamber, as you lacked the necessary funding. Whatever the case, his might be a familiar face from a painful time of yours.

Should you have talents in Black Magic or Necromancy, it's possible that Enzo has purposefully sought you out. He scours the world for any bit of information he can find on either of these two topics, and is willing to do next to anything to fulfill his voracious appetite for knowledge and power.
